Pet&r LLP is an Institute of Leadership & Management Accredited Centre. ILM is a professional management institute supporting managers at all levels. ILM aims to be foremost in the promotion of management excellence and development, and enhance the professional recognition of ILM members. Their courses come under the umbrella of City & Guilds ensuring they are nationally and internationally recognised.
All the qualifications are unit based and clients can pick the units they want, within the ILM’s rules of minimum credits and units, to make up their own bespoke qualification.
We can deliver the qualifications in-house or at suitable venues for groups of 4 or more, or virtually using Zoom or Teams. We can also provide a blended learning approach of short workshops, or individual coaching, with workbooks and online resources for individuals, small groups or time poor organisations.
We are also able to offer condensed Level 5 courses on a residential or non-residential basis and via online blended learning options.

Level 2 Award in Effective Mentoring Skills
This course is designed to equip team leaders and aspiring first time managers with the skills and knowledge to understand and undertake effective mentoring to aid their own personal development. The course consists of 2 compulsory units: Understanding mentoring and Developing mentoring skills. Assessment is by a written assignment plus a portfolio of mentoring activities.
Level 3 Award and Certificate in Effective Coaching
This course is for those under taking or planning to undertake a coaching role within their organisation or team. It consists of 3 mandatory units: Understanding good practice in coaching within an organisational context, Reflecting on coaching skills with in an organisational context and Undertaking coaching within an organisation. For the Award participants must undertake a minimum of 6 hours workplace coaching with a maximum of 2 participants and for the Certificate they must undertake a minimum of 12 hours coaching with a maximum of 2 individuals. Assessment is via work based assignment, coaching portfolio, reflective journal and supervised coaching sessions.
Level 2 Award and Certificate in Leadership and Team Skills
This course is designed for those either just starting or intending to start their first position as a team leader. The Award consists of a minimum of 3 credits and the Certificate consists of a minimum of 13 credits. The units are chosen from the qualification specification list of units which includes Developing yourself as a team leader, Workplace communication, Improving the performance of the work team, Planning and monitoring work, Managing yourself, Using information to solve problems and Understanding change in the workplace Assessment is by short answer questions or work based assignments.
Level 3 Award and Certificate in Leadership and Management
This course is designed for those either just starting or intending to start their first position as a first line manager. The Award consists of a minimum of 2 units with a minimum of 4 credits and the Certificate consists of a minimum of 13 credits. The units are chosen from the qualification specification list of units which includes Understanding leadership, Understanding the communication process in the workplace, Leading and motivating a team effectively, Understand how to establish an effective team, Leading and motivating a team effectively, Understanding discipline, Understanding training and coaching in the workplace, Understanding performance management and Managing workplace projects. Assessment is by work based assignments.
Level 5 Award, Certificate and Diploma in Leadership and Management
This course is designed for practising middle managers to help them develop their skills and experience, improve performance and prepare for senior management responsibilities. The Award consists of a minimum of 2 units and 6 credits and the Certificate consists of a minimum of 7 units from Group 1 and a maximum of 6 units from Group 2 to. The units are chosen from the qualification specification list of units which includes Becoming an effective leader, Developing and leading teams to achieve organisational goals and objectives, Leading innovation and change and Making professional presentations. Assessment is by work based assignment or reflective review.
